The LA™ stands for Light Adjusting, another way of saying that the lenses are photochromic - they adjust from nearly clear to smoke grey when exposed to the UV rays of sunlight. The goggles offer protection by the incorporation of two layered open cell foam affixed to the matte black frames. This feature diverts wind and cuts peripheral glare without completely sealing the eyes. The frames are incredibly light, too. After a few minutes you may not even realize you are wearing the best eye protection available. These goggles have Shatterproof Selenite™ Polycarbonate Lenses that block 100% of UV rays. They also meet ANSI Z87.1 safety requirements for High Velocity and High Mass Impacts. Additionally, they meet US Federal OSHA 1910.133(b)(1)(1) Standards.
