While Winter Isn't Over, the end is in sight!

Don’t let the cold grey days of December and January get you down. For those of us where riding is impractical and even dangerous, we have to resort to our winter coping-mechanisms to get through every day, it seems. Even after getting home from a day of work, one would think it might get better? But turning on the news around the dinner hour seems to only make matters worse. If it’s not the horrific west coast fires in Cali that our fellow riders are enduring, it’s politics, politics, and more politics.
So, it’s time to sit-down and think. On the negative side, your motorcycle is locked up in winter storage, or on a jack stand in the garage. No matter where it is, most of us are not likely to get away for a few hours of riding in this weather. On the positive side, ask yourself, “What happens in just a month or so? You guessed it! On March 20th, the vernal equinox occurs, and the days are noticeably longer than the nights. And, as the saying goes, March showers will, and do bring April flowers. And with that, it’ll be time to ride again. So, that’s something positive to think about, right?
Even at this point of winter, you can turn the thinking into action. Will you be ready for that first day? Are there accessories you have wanted but didn’t have the time to take action? Is your riding wardrobe complete? Do you need new boots? Have you replenished your bike-care cabinet with fresh waxes and cleaning materials? What about you riding jacket. Does it need replacing or should the one from last year get to the cleaners.
Visiting your local Harley dealer will help answer some of these questions. It will brighten your day to also see your riding buddies doing the same thing. Now is the time to take action. Don’t let winter depression take hold – fight it, and do something. Spring is coming, and it’ll be here before you know it.
