Harley-Davidson® Men’s 8-Base Lifestyle Sunglasses, HDS607BLK-3, feature shiny black and Harley® orange frames with grey lenses. These extra-wide lenses give maximum protection by slightly curving around the sides of the eye. What does 8-Base mean? The base number refers to the curvature of the lens, which, in part, determines how deeply the frame will wrap around the side of your face. Of the three base styles, 6, 8 and 9, these are 8-based, which means the lenses wrap slightly around the sides of your face, providing greater protection from light 'leaking' into the sides of the frame. These sunglasses also provide all the ultraviolet light protection you’ll need – they are rated at 100% for UVA and UVB, blocking all UV wavelengths, from 280-400 nanometers, thus protecting the eye and the skin area around the eye. They are also designed with a rubberized flange for the nose and for the temples, allowing for carefree comfort for hours and hours. The polycarbonate lenses are impact-resistant, providing 10-times the resistance of plastic lenses, and they are grey in color, affording the best filtering for outdoor, sunny conditions. Optimally sized at 66-13-125, these sunglasses fit most people, meaning the lens width is 66mm, the nose-bridge is 13mm, and length of the temple arm is 125mm. These lenses are a bit wider than average to accommodate the extra 8-base wrap. The bridge and temple arms fit most people comfortably. As for styling, a Harley-Davidson® Bar & Shield® logo adorns the arm hinge, and orange inserts embellish the outside of the arms. The inside of the arms and nose-bridge are orange too.
