You don’t have to be a full-fledged Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) graduate to do the periodic, routine maintenance tasks required to keep your machine purring. There is a lot you can do for yourself. If you are a DIY’er, you can do this as long as you are honest with yourself about your abilities. If you are doubtful, take it to your dealer.
If you do want to do it yourself, with one of several tool kits and tools offered here, you can spend a Saturday morning performing routine tasks like changing the oil and filter, changing plugs, cleaning or changing the air filter element, and checking tire pressure. With practice you can even replace the brake pads. We have what you need, like a shock spanner wrench, oil filter removal tools, etc. We’ve got OEM and Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle ST Performance spark plugs and OEM brake pads, too. With time and a little know-how, you can keep your machine is top running condition year round. The only thing we ask is that you be honest with yourself in measuring your abilities. Like we say above, if you are doubtful, take it to your dealer. We don’t want you to get into a position where you have parts spread out all over the garage floor without a clue of what to do next. Know your limits.
